Raksha Bandhan, the holy festival of brothers and sisters, is falling on 3 August this time. This festival is celebrated every year on the full moon day of the month of Shravan. This festival is celebrated with joy and gaiety by the Hindu and Jain communities in every country.
On this day, the sister binds her brother’s defense and wishes for her bright future and the brother promises to protect her sister.
Method of acceptance/The ritual
By the way, the best time to tie Raksha Sutras is considered to be morning but still we can make Raksha Sutras(Raksha Bandhan) throughout the day. On this day, the sister brings sandalwood rolls in a plate by decorating sweets, Akshat and Deepak etc. and applying tilak to the first brother and Then after taking off her aarti, she binds her sutra, and then the brother gives her some gifts and promises to protect her.
Historical story
It is believed that when Lord Shree Krishna killed Shishupala in the Mahabharata, the right finger of God was cut when Draupadi saw this scene, she tore her sari and tied it in the finger of God and then Lord Draupadi Pledged to protect forever. This day was the full moon day of the month of Shravan.For this reason, this day is celebrated as Rakshabandhan.
Once Bahadur Shah Zafar was preparing for an attack on Mewar, at that time the queen of Mewar, Karmavati was not able to protect Mewar, he sent Emperor Humayun to Raksha Sutra (Rakhi) to protect Mewar. Humayun, despite being a Muslim, he respected Raksha Sutra (Rakhi) and protected Mewar and won Mewar.
Once to protect Alexander from the Hindu King Purvas, Alexander’s wife tied the Raksha Sutra (Rakhi) to the King Purvasa and promised him not to kill Alexander in battle.
Once King Bali pleased Lord Vishnu with his hard penance, and took a boon from him to always be present in front of him. Due to which Mata Lakshmi got very worried, and on the full moon day of Saavan month, she tied the Raksha Sutra (Rakhi) to King Bali and asked for her promise to bring her Lord Vishnu with her.
It is believed that when the war between the demon and the gods was going on, the demons were overcoming the gods, when news of Indra’s wife heard it, they chanted the Indra deity in a Raksha Sutra and chanted them in their hands. Which made them victorious in the war, and it was due to this defense formula that the gods won. Since then, when a king goes into any war, his queens tie a defense thread in his hands, wishing him victory.
Effect of Raksha Bandhan on society
In earlier times, when women went to their in-laws, they were tortured in many homes. Even after all this, she could not come to her house, and thus or atrocities increased further. In view of this, every year the festival of Raksha Bandhan was brought in the life of human beings, in which women go to their maiden and tie the defense thread in the hands of their brother. And the brother promises to protect her throughout her life, so if any woman is being tortured under her in-laws, then there is definitely a chance in the year when she can tell her family members about it.
“Raksha Bandhan is celebrated in different ways in different states of India, such as the custom of tying Ram Rakhi and Chuda Rakhi in Rajasthan and in Tamil Nadu Kerala Maharashtra and Orissa this festival is called Avani Avittam.”
Government facilities
On the day of Raksha Bandhan, many arrangements are made by the Government of India, such that on this day all government vehicles are free for women and girls. And the government also orders the postal department that all the rakhi(Raksha Bandhan) sent by the sisters to their brothers should be delivered at the right place at the right time. And the government does not ban any government and private vehicles on this day and people celebrate this festival with great pomp throughout the day.
रक्षाबंधन,भाई और बहनों का पवित्र त्यौहार रक्षाबंधन इस बार 3 अगस्त को पड़ रहा है. यह त्यौहार प्रत्येक वर्ष श्रावण मास के पूर्णिमा के दिन मनाया जाता है। हर देश में हिंदू तथा जैन समुदाय के द्वारा यह त्यौहार पूरे हर्ष और उल्लास के साथ मनाया जाता है।
इस दिन बहन अपने भाई को रक्षा सूत्र बांधकर के उसके उज्जवल भविष्य की कामना करती है तथा भाई अपने बहन की रक्षा करने का वचन देता है।
मानाने की विधि/अनुष्ठान
वैसे तो रक्षा सूत्र बांधने का उत्तम समय सुबह का ही माना जाता है लेकिन फिर भी हम पूरे दिन रक्षा सूत्र बनवा सकते हैं। इस दिन बहन एक थाली में चंदन रोली मिठाई अक्षत तथा दीपक आदि सजा करके लाती है। और पहले भाई को तिलक लगाती है और फिर उसकी आरती उतार कर के उसे रक्षा सूत्र बांधती है, और फिर भाई उसे कुछ उपहार देता है तथा उसकी रक्षा करने का वचन देता है
ऐतिहासिक कहानी
माना जाता है, कि महाभारत में जब भगवान श्री कृष्ण ने शिशुपाल की हत्या की थी तो उस समय भगवान की दाहिनी अंगुली कट गई थी, जब यह दृश्य द्रोपदी ने देखा तो उन्होंने अपनी साड़ी फाड़ करके भगवान की अंगुली में बांध दिया और तब भगवान ने द्रोपदी की सदा रक्षा करने का वचन दिया। यह दिन श्रवण मास की पूर्णिमा का ही दिन था। इसी कारण इस दिन को रक्षाबंधन के रूप में मनाया जाता है
एक बार बहादुर शाह जफर मेवाड़ पर हमले की तैयारी कर रहा था उस समय मेवाड़ की रानी कर्मावती मेवाड़ की रक्षा करने में सक्षम नहीं थी। तो उन्होंने बादशाह हुमायूं को मेवाड़ की रक्षा के लिए रक्षा सूत्र(राखी) भेजा। हुमायूं एक मुस्लिम होते हुए भी उन्होंने रक्षा सूत्र (राखी)का सम्मान रखा और मेवाड़ की रक्षा करके मेवाड़ को विजय दिलवाया।
एक बार हिंदू राजा पुरूवास से सिकंदर की रक्षा के लिए, सिकंदर की पत्नी ने राजा पुरूवास को रक्षा सूत्र (राखी) बांध करके उनसे युद्ध में सिकंदर को ना मारने का वचन लिया।
एक बार राजा बलि ने अपनी कड़ी तपस्या से भगवान विष्णु को प्रसन्न किया, और उनसे हमेशा अपने सम्मुख उपस्थित रहने का वरदान ले लिया। जिससे माता लक्ष्मी बहुत चिंतित हुई, और उन्होंने सावन मास की पूर्णिमा के दिन राजा बलि को रक्षा सूत्र(राखी) बांधकर के अपने भगवान विष्णु को अपने साथ लाने का वचन मांग लिया।
माना जाता है, कि जब दानव और देवताओं के बीच युद्ध चल रहा था तब दानव देवताओं पर भारी पड़ रहे थे। इसका समाचार जब इंद्र की पत्नी ने सुना तो उन्होंने इंद्र देवता को एक रक्षा सूत्र में मंत्र उच्चारण करके उनके हाथों में बांध दिया। जिससे वे युद्ध में विजयी हो, और इस रक्षा सूत्र के कारण ही देवताओं की विजय हुई।
तभी से किसी भी युद्ध में जब कोई राजा जाता है तो उसके विजय की कामना करते हुए उनकी रानियां उनके हाथों में रक्षा सूत्र बांधती हैं।
समाज पर रक्षाबंधन का प्रभाव समाज
माना जाता है, कि पहले के समय में जब महिलाएं अपने ससुराल चली जाती थी तो कई घरों में उन पर अत्याधिक अत्याचार किया जाता था। इन सबके बाद भी वे अपने घर नहीं आ सकती थी, और इस प्रकार या अत्याचार और भी बढ़ता गया। जिसको देखते हुए मानव के जीवन में हर वर्ष रक्षाबंधन का त्यौहार लाया गया। जिसमें महिलाएं अपने मायके जा करके अपने भाई के हाथों में रक्षा सूत्र बांधते हैं। और भाई उसकी जीवन भर रक्षा करने का वचन देता है इस प्रकार यदि कोई भी स्त्री यदि अपने ससुराल में प्रताड़ित की जा रही है, तो उसके पास साल में एक ऐसा मौका जरूर आता है जब वह अपने घर वालों को इसके बारे में बता सके।
“भारत के विभिन्न राज्यों में रक्षाबंधन को अलग-अलग तरीकों से मनाया जाता है, जैसे राजस्थान में राम राखी और चूड़ा राखी बांधने का रिवाज है तथा तमिलनाडु केरल महाराष्ट्र और उड़ीसा में इस पर्व को अवनि अवित्तम कहते हैं।”
सरकारी सुविधाएं
रक्षाबंधन के दिन भारत सरकार की तरफ से कई सारे प्रबंध किए जाते हैं, जैसे कि इस दिन सभी सरकारी वाहन महिलाओं तथा लड़कियों के लिए फ्री रहता है। और सरकार द्वारा डाक विभाग को भी यह आदेश दिया जाता है कि सभी राखी जो बहनों के द्वारा अपने भाइयों को भेजा जाता है उसे सही समय पर उचित स्थान पर पहुंचा दिया जाए। तथा सरकार इस दिन किसी भी सरकारी तथा प्राइवेट वाहनों पर रोक नहीं लगाती है और पूरे दिन लोग इस त्यौहार को बड़ी ही धूमधाम से मनाते हैं।
